eema seminar ‘best practices of networked e-identity solutions’The seminar ‘best practices of networked e-identity solutions’ is a one-day event organized by eema in cooperation with Everett. After many trials, pilots, successes and failures the identity market is still finding its shape and size. These days, its crucial role in the development of e-business is not disputed by anyone anymore. Business people become particularly interested, since networked e-identity, which we define as “identity across organizational boundaries”, can be regarded as ‘the mother of all transactions’. In the generic end-to-end trade process, identity is at the heart of each step: contract, order, shipment, invoice, payment and tax settlement. Service providers in all forms and shapes see opportunities, especially ‘in the cloud’, enabling previously unheard scalability. The upshot of this is that e-identity moves out of the positioning of a pure ‘cost’, ‘control’ and ‘compliance’ subject and into a growth-enabling topic. Furthermore, e-identity develops from an enterprise identity to networked identity, were it becomes a ‘n’-sided market with three distinct user groups: end users, service providers and identity providers. |

Everett publishes a new whitepaper: e-Identity as a businessAfter many trials, pilots, successes and failures the identity market is still finding its shape and size. Its crucial role in the development of e-business is not disputed and more and more the subject is coming out of the 'technology geek scene'. In the generic end-to-end trade process, identity is at the heart of each step: contract, order, shipment, invoice, payment and tax settlement. Service providers in all forms and shapes see opportunities, also 'in the cloud', enabling previously unheard scalability. The upshot of this is that e-identity should develop out of the positioning of a pure 'cost', 'control' and 'compliance' subject into a growth-enabling topic. E-identity develops from an enterprise identity to networked identities, there we see identity becoming a two-sided market with two distinct user groups: end users and service providers. This whitepaper aims to discuss some of today's main e-identity business propositions, including their business models. |

The 2009 European Identity & Access Management SurveyWhat is the current state and the impact of the economic crisis? - Conducted by KPMG and Everett, in cooperation with eema and IIR Organisations are facing many challenges on the subject of Identity and Access Management. For example, organisations turn out not to be ‘in control’: passwords have been shared; there are silo solutions per application or platform which give rise to countless authentication methods and password regimens; authorisations are multi-layered and duties are no longer clearly segregated; there is a lack of insight into the authorisations granted by the management; the helpdesk costs to change passwords, provide rapid provisioning and de-provisioning and authorisations are high. The list of weak points is endless.
